The “best” Nairobi neighborhood depends on what you want the property to do. A location that works well for your own visits may not be the same location you would choose for a particular tenant or investment strategy.
Define the user of the property
Consider whether the likely user is you, a long-term tenant, a short-stay guest, a student, a professional household or family members.
Compare daily convenience
Access to work centers, schools, hospitals, shopping, recreation and transport can matter more than a neighborhood label.
Look at the building as well as the area
Two apartments on the same street can have very different management quality, service charges, parking, noise, maintenance and tenant appeal.
Visit at more than one time of day
Where possible, evaluate traffic, lighting, activity and noise outside the carefully chosen viewing window. Neighborhood fit is an operating question, not just a map question.
