Furnishing decisions should follow the intended use of the apartment. A home for a long-term tenant, an owner’s occasional return visits and a frequently turned short-stay unit do not need exactly the same setup.
Choose the operating model first
Decide who the likely occupant is, how often the unit turns over and what level of service is realistic. That prevents overspending on items that do not support the plan.
Prioritize durability and replaceability
Furniture and household items should be comfortable, but they should also be easy to maintain and replace locally if something breaks.
Build a complete readiness list
Go beyond beds and sofas. Think through lighting, curtains, kitchen basics, linens, storage, internet equipment, cleaning supplies and the small details that affect usability.
Document the setup
Keep an inventory with photographs, purchase records and replacement notes. For an owner living abroad, that inventory becomes an important management tool.
