Cleanliness is one of the most visible parts of a short-stay guest experience. Overseas owners need a verification process, not just confirmation that cleaning was completed.
Define the standard in writing
Use a room-by-room checklist that covers surfaces, bathrooms, linen, kitchen items, floors, bins and reset expectations.
Separate cleaning from inspection
The person who cleaned can confirm completion, but periodic independent checks or manager inspections create stronger quality control.
Use timestamped photos selectively
Photos are most useful for high-risk areas: bathrooms, beds, kitchen counters, refrigerator, floors and visible damage.
Track repeat problems
If the same issue appears in reviews or inspections, treat it as a process problem. Repeated correction is more expensive than fixing the standard itself.
