Photographs are one of the simplest ways for an overseas owner to verify repairs, turnovers and property condition—if the photo process is consistent.
Photograph the same area from the same angle
Consistency makes changes easier to compare. Random images may prove that someone visited but not that the work was completed well.
Capture context as well as close-ups
A close-up shows the repair; a wider image shows where it sits in the room and whether surrounding finishes were affected.
Label images by date and task
A folder of unlabeled photos quickly becomes useless. Tie images to the work order, inspection or turnover they document.
Do not use photos as the only control
Photos are evidence, not a full inspection. Complex work may still require receipts, vendor details, testing or an independent review.
General educational information only. Property, legal, tax, leasing and management decisions should be verified for the specific property and jurisdiction.
