Unlocking Opportunities: How IOM and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs Support Diaspora Kenyans with Paid Expenses to Return for 3 Months

Are you a Kenyan living abroad and eager to reconnect with your homeland while contributing to its development? Great news! The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs are providing an exceptional opportunity for Kenyans in the diaspora.
These organizations will cover expenses for a three-month stay in Kenya, allowing individuals to volunteer and participate in programs that strengthen key socio-economic sectors of the country.
Under the BRMM Programme, IOM collaborates with Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Services/Departments to execute a Returned Qualified Nationals (RQN)/Diaspora Engagement activity in Kenya.
This initiative aims to enable Kenyan diaspora members to voluntarily participate in strengthening institutions in key socio-economic sectors agreed upon with the government, such as computer science, health, agriculture, engineering, and financial systems.
The goal is to identify, engage, and deploy diaspora experts currently living and working abroad who are interested in returning to contribute to their home country's development for up to three months, focusing on Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, and Uganda.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with the first cohort expected to be placed in July or August 2024. Interested individuals should submit a motivation letter outlining their availability, a CV, and contact information (email and phone number) for two professional references.
