A good post-event survey helps organizers decide what to repeat, what to change and whether the event delivered the value it promised.
Ask whether the event met the reason people came
Begin with purpose. Networking, education, culture and fundraising need different measures of success.
Ask about specific parts of the experience
Registration, venue, speakers, timing, food, networking and follow-up are easier to improve when feedback is separated.
Use one or two open questions
Questions such as “What should we keep?” and “What should we change?” often produce more useful comments than a long list of rating scales.
Share what you learned internally
Survey data has little value if it is collected and forgotten. Summarize the main patterns before planning the next event.
