Technology events generate ideas quickly. The harder part is deciding which conversations deserve continued attention after the speakers, panels and networking sessions end.
Capture problems, not only presentations
Write down the recurring challenges participants identify: payments, logistics, data, health, property, education or access to markets. Problems create better working groups than broad themes.
Form a small group around one outcome
A working group needs a specific deliverable—a pilot, research note, vendor list, prototype or follow-up session—not a permanent chat group with no purpose.
Assign one coordinator
Someone should schedule the next meeting, maintain notes and track commitments. Shared enthusiasm without ownership usually disappears.
Set an end point
After sixty or ninety days, decide whether the group has produced enough value to continue, change direction or close. Not every conference conversation needs to become an organization.
